From the Principal
Hello Woodstock Families,
First, I’d like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break from school next week. Students and staff have all been working hard during the first few months of school and this is a great opportunity to reflect on everyone’s work and to be thankful for our opportunities, growth, and accomplishments, on individual and collective levels, throughout our building.
Although there won’t be regular classes next week, we are eager to see you at Fall Conferences. As a school staff, we greatly value this opportunity to meet with families to discuss student growth and progress. Although the conference times are short, teachers are preparing information for you to make sure the time is meaningful. At the conference, you can expect your child’s teacher to share reports from fall screeners, such as DIBELS (K-2nd), MAP (3rd-5th), and Level Chinese (MIP 1st-5th). In addition, teachers may also share information for in-class assessments and conferring with your child.
During your conference, please do not hesitate to ask clarifying questions or questions that will help you understand your child’s growth.
If you are unable to attend conferences in person, you can schedule phone conference to occur on Monday or Tuesday. Please contact the office to make those arrangements.
It is also during this time of year that the Oregon Department of Education publishes the school report cards. Woodstock’s report card can be found here. Although this represents the students’ achievement of the state standardized test from last year, it provides an opportunity to look at the overall academic achievement of our school, compared with state trends, to help us develop instructional practices and strategies geared toward supporting student learning. Please take a moment to review Woodstock’s report card. We hope to have an opportunity to share additional information at an upcoming PTA meeting. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
As always, thank you for being the most important part of our Woodstock Community. In the event we do not see you during conferences, have a great break and we’ll see you in December.
With Woodstock Pride,
Seth Johnson, Principal

Pets on School Grounds
Lately, we have seen a lot of families bringing dogs to school during arrivals and dismissals. Since not all are comfortable around dogs, please be sure to be with your dog and keep it on a leash at all times. Please do not leave your dog unattended.
Also, please do not bring dogs into the building without approval. There are district policies and guidelines regarding pets/animals at school. You can read more here.
Thanks for your cooperation.
