Kindergarten Connect - School Choice: “Know Your Options”

Over the past couple weeks we have been advertising a District Wide Kindergarten Connect for February 18 at 6:00 PM.  This event is open to all families that have a child who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall.  However, this meeting will be designed for families that are exploring options beyond their neighborhood program.  The district will be offering a general Kindergarten Connect event later this spring.

More information will be coming from the district and you can get Woodstock specific information, register for Kindergarten, and see upcoming events on the Kindergarten page on our school website.

Successful Schools Survey - Tell Us About Your Experience

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the phrase “successful schools?” We believe that successful schools are safe, healthy and welcoming learning spaces that are inclusive for all students. But we want to hear your thoughts.

We are excited to announce the 2021 Successful Schools Family Survey. When you take the survey, you help us understand your experience as a parent or guardian. This important information will guide us as we determine the future of our schools. The survey launches today and will be available for the next four weeks.

Take the survey today! You can complete the survey from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. It should only take 15-20 minutes of your time. Select the school your child attends and answer the questions for that school. If you have children at more than one PPS school, please complete one survey for each school your children attend. If you need help taking the survey please contact your teacher or principal.

Thank you for being part of the PPS family!

    School Photos

I’m happy to share that we’ve been able to secure a photographer for school photos.  As a health and safety precaution, we will be doing school photos outside this year.  More information will be coming soon, but be prepared for school photos to occur during the week of March 1.

    REMINDER: SE Guiding Coalition Recruitment

As a part of the Enrollment and Program Balancing (EPB) we are seeking two SE Guiding Coalition representatives.  We are particularly seeking BIPOC parents/guardians who bring a good understanding of the school community and can also be district-wide thinkers and collaborators.

If you are interested in joining the SE Guiding Coalition please complete this interest form (English and 中文).

REMINDER: Site Council - Recruiting New Members

Although we just went through Site Council elections a couple of months ago, we are returning to our regular Site Council election cycle and hope to have elections this coming spring.

If you are interested in participating in Site Council or would like to learn more about the role of Site Councils, please contact me at sjohnson5@pps.net.

The two vacancies we will be filling are a neighborhood program representative and a Mandarin speaking representative from the immersion program.

    Have a great week!

    With Woodstock Pride,

    Seth Johnson, Principal
