    Odyssey’s New Chant

We have a new Odyssey Chant!   Congratulations to Milo in 2nd grade.  He and his dad, Stephan, joined us for our Monthly Salute this morning and taught the whole school.  Thank you to everyone who submitted a chant.  They were all great!  It was such a treat to watch the Odyssey spirit and pride shine!

Have your Odyssey student give you a preview.  Here are the words….

    At O-dy-ssey  (clap-clap-clap-clap)

    Learn to suc-ceed (clap-clap-clap-clap)

    Through his-tor-y (clap-clap-clap-clap)

    And u-ni-ty (clap-clap-clap-clap)

    At O-dy-sseeeey

    Learn to suc-ceeeed

    Through his-tor-yyyy

    And u-ni-tyyyy

    (repeat)

Mathilda, Opal, Luke, Tatianna, Audie, Beatrice, and Etai performed our new Odyssey song.  I can’t replicate their fantastic performance, but let’s just say Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” will never be the same!  Great job!

Drop Off and Pick Up Concerns

We are having trouble with the traffic flow in our parking lot and safety concerns for our community.  Most recently, the PJA after-school bus couldn’t drive behind our school because cars lined both sides of the drive-through.  Parking is not allowed where there are yellow curbs or areas marked with cones.  When dropping off or picking up, please do not have students cross the street in front of the school.

    Principal

RSVP TODAY! Odyssey Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon April 26

Please RSVP, if you’re able to join us!!

Odyssey owes its success in large part, to the volunteers who generously donate their time to the program.  K12 cluster has 20 volunteers who come help on a regular basis, and 80-100 volunteers helping with the performance.  345 cluster benefits from 50 volunteers over the course of the year, plus 60-65 field study volunteers.  Finally, 678 has 40 volunteers over the course of the year, and 60-65 helping out with field study!  Add another 40 art volunteers for K-5 and we've got a whole heap of volunteers!!!

The school will recognize these wonderful volunteers with a light luncheon on Friday, April 26th from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.  We hope you're available to join us!

Please e-mail me at gfu@aya.yale.edu if you plan on attending.  We need numbers for food orders. We’ll happily accommodate dietary requests.

    With thanks,

    Genevieve Fu, gfu@aya.yale.edu
