    January 8, 2018

    Dear Odyssey Community,

Happy New Year! Welcome back from Winter break! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends! We have jumped back into the school year, and honestly it seems like winter break was months ago. I want to THANK everyone who participated in the Giving Snowman! This year as a school community we shared the joy of the holidays with 45 families in our school community. Lots of smiles, lots of tears, and lots of Thank You’s! Families truly do appreciate the support in making the holidays and winter break a joyous time of the year.

Now that winter break is over, we are heading into the season of performances, guilds, and focus option nights which somehow all get wrapped up by the end of March.  Focus Option Information Nights will be Feb. 15, Feb. 22, and March 1st at 6:00pm at East Sylvan. If you have friends that are interested in the program, please encourage them to come to a focus option night. In order to get in the lottery it is mandatory that a parent attend an info. Night. We will have open spots at each grade level, especially several at the middle school level. All lottery applications need to be turned (paper or via email) into Enrollment and Transfer by March 2, 2018.

This is also the season for our fabulous plays. Save the dates and come and join the fun…. Thursday, Feb. 8 at 6:00-7:30pm will be the 345 Guild Fair in the cafeteria.  Come and see the historical characters from the American Revolution come to life.  Then on Sunday, Feb. 11 we will have two performances of the 345 play “The Birth of America”.  One at 11:00am and the other at 1:30pm. This is a great opportunity to see a play from another cluster, and see what lies ahead for you, if you are in k12 check in the office about tickets.

Then on Thursday, March 15th the 678 cluster will host the Twelve Night performance, with a second performance and guild fair on Sunday March 18th.

If we have snowy weather, please listen to the news, look at the district website, or you may receive a district phone call telling you about school openings/closing for the day.

Looking forward to the next five and half months of school (yes, the year is flying by)!

Thank you again for all of your support.

    Happy New Year!
