With five months left in their K-12 careers, high school seniors in Portland Public Schools probably feel like they’re in a sprint to the finish line. For the almost 3,000 PPS students who will graduate this spring, that finish line is a graduation ceremony.

Dates for 2020 PPS high school graduations have been set. The district’s nine comprehensive high schools will again hold their ceremonies at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, this year starting Sunday, June 7, with Roosevelt. The celebrations continue through Wednesday, June 10, concluding with Madison.

Unlike recent years, graduation ceremonies for the comprehensive high schools will be held after the final day of classes in the district. The final day for seniors is June 2, with all schools ending Friday, June 5 (unless snow or other reasons prompts the use any of the three designated makeup days, June 8, 9 and 10).

PPS’s three alternative high schools will have earlier graduation dates, with seniors at Metropolitan Learning Center graduating on Saturday, May 30; Alliance at Benson on Tuesday, June 2; and Alliance at Meek on Wednesday, June 3.
