Things To Know
For the Safety and Security of our students, the staff, and our building…
IMPORTANT, UPDATED INFORMATION: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The front doors on Evergreen St. and the playground doors by the kindergarten classrooms are the only doors open for morning drop-off.
For the safety of our students and staff, and for the security of our building, the front doors on Evergreen St. are the only available entrance during the school day. These doors will be locked at 4:30. All other doors will remain locked throughout the day. At the end of the day, students may exit any of the doors in the building, but they will not be unlocked.
Students may be dropped off at 8:20 if they are having breakfast in the cafeteria. Otherwise, students may not be dropped off until 8:30, as we do not have staff supervision available until then.
A responsible adult/parent/guardian must be with students if they are on school grounds before 8:20 or after dismissal at 3pm.
For YMCA drop-off and pick-up only, please use the door from the playground between the gym and the cafeteria. There is a doorbell for your convenience.
We Love Volunteers!!
Whether you have 30 minutes or a few hours in the day/week, or one day a year to help with an event, we can always use your help! Our volunteers are an integral part of the success of our school and our students. Having adults in the building gives our students the knowledge that people are there to help them succeed, and to help make our school the amazing place that it is.
Pick up a Volunteer Form from the office, fill it out and bring it to the office, contact your child’s teacher, or check the Wednesday Newsletter for Volunteer Opportunities!
Please be sure you have a cleared background check so you can volunteer throughout the year! This is a no cost application, only takes a few minutes to complete, is valid for 3 years once you have been cleared and it clears you district wide for any PPS School.

Free/Reduced Meal Program:
Meal benefits expire at the end of each school year. Families approved the prior school year have a 30 day grace period to apply for meal benefits at the start of the school year if they still meet federal income guidelines.
This program could potentially contribute valuable resources to Lewis School. We encourage you to submit the application even if you may not use the service. Here’s the link to set up a meal account and apply: https://www.pps.net/Page/2464
