• The May 2017 Bond provides over $25 million for new fire sprinkler systems and upgraded fire alarms.

    Fernwood – Beverly Cleary K-8 School
    Following full assessment by a design firm, a new fire suppression system was designed to meet the requirements of the 2014 Oregon Fire Code, the Portland Fire Marshal and Portland Public School District Standards. The new system includes installation of an incoming fire service piping, along with a double check valve for backflow prevention.  Inside the school sprinkler mains and branch lines were installed including fire department connection and a flow switch interlocked with the building fire alarm system.

    King Elementary School

    Rigler Elementary School
    Following full assessment by the design firm a new fire alarm system will be designed to meet the requirements the 2014 Oregon Fire Code, the Portland Fire Marshal and Portland Public School District Standards. Contractors will install a new fire sprinkler service into the building including new piping from the street. Inside the school, sprinkler mains and branch lines will be installed including fire department connection and a flow switch interlocked with the building fire alarm system. The school will also receive a new fire sprinkler system which will include a full voice evac system installation as part of the school’s elevator installation

    Jefferson High School
    Following full assessment by the design the existing fire sprinkler system at Jefferson was fully upgraded with new quick response heads. The upgrades also include a double check valve for backflow prevention and replacement of aging fire sprinkler infrastructure in the building. Contractors also installed new flow switches for the fire sprinkler system.
