Dear Irvington Community,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Vân Truong, who has been serving as principal at Irvington Elementary School since April – on a substitute, then interim basis – will remain in that role in the 2021-22 school year.

As part of reopening Portland Public Schools in the 2021-22 school year, the district must submit a plan to the Oregon Department of Education. As part of the requirement, PPS is asking for feedback on the plan.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Lorna Fast Buffalo Horse will move into the role of Area Senior Director in the Office of School Performance. Lorna has served as a Director in OSP, in Multiple Pathways to Graduation, since 2019, and we are pleased to elevate her to ASD.
