2020-2021 Oregon Readers Choice Award Books
Sellwood Middle School will be participating in the 2020-2021 Oregon Reader's Choice Awards (ORCA). It was established in 2010 as a way for the Oregon youth to have a voice in what they believe to be the best books for students.
There are 3 different divisions, based on appropriate content. If a student reads at least 2 books in any of the divisions, that student is allowed to vote for their favorite one in an election in March.Middle School Division (grades 6-8):

The Last by Katherine Applegate
The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani
No Fixed Address by Susin Nielsen
Sunny by Jason Reynolds
Sweep: The Story of a Girl and Her Monster by Jonathan Auxier
From March 1st to March 31st, any Oregon student or teacher can vote for their favorite Oregon Reader's Choice Award (ORCA) book, as long as they have read at least TWO books in any of the divisions.
