PRINCIPAL'SMESSAGE

Dear Sellwood Community,

We continue to work to help all Sellwood students to develop the habit of wearing their ID badges at school. It is truly a work in progress, but we do have a much higher percentage of students wearing their IDs this year. We appreciate the parental support as families are clearly helping students embed the ID badge in their morning routine. Please keep in mind that there are alternatives to lanyards, and students can wear their IDs on a carabiner clipped to their belt or other clip on alternative. Students who have truly lost their ID should report to the office; our Campus Safety Associate can print a new ID. We will no longer be calling students to the office to get a name tag, as we do not want them missing class. Instead, we will be shifting to positive recognition of students who regularly wear their IDs at school. We will also be contacting families of students who need more support developing the habit.

Don't forget that next week all middle schools will have an early release day, Wednesday October 23rd, at 1:30PM. Also, picture make-up day is next Thursday, October 24th.

Sincerely,

Jeandre Carbone

Sellwood MS Principal
