• Harrison Park

Title I Parent & Family Involvement Plan

    • Harrison Park is the center of a vibrant multicultural community. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s educational journey. Our hope is to have parents involved in all aspects of the school.

    • Communication is imperative in any community. We will make every effort to have interpreters and communications translated and available for families. We strive to use Remind, Messenger, our school website, and other forms of communication as needed. We do rely upon our multilingual staff to provide in the moment communication and informational  communication often and encourage all staff to reach out to families through phone calls and dialog as much as possible.

    • Parents, students, teachers and other school staff must communicate regularly. We strive to provide opportunities for families to talk with teachers frequently. This happens through emails, phone calls, conferences, pre arranged meetings, etc. Parents are also encouraged to reach out to administrators as needed. Administration holds monthly coffee/parent meetings as a way to continually communicate. While these meetings have a highlighted language group each month, all families are encouraged to attend. Administration will make every effort to respond to parents as quickly as possible.

    • School events such as: Back to School Night, Title I Night, TAG Night, ESL Night, AVID Night, Multicultural Night, Conferences are ways for the school community to get involved and provide feedback.

    • Our Title I program will be planned with consultation of parents and community members. Parents will also have the opportunity to be involved in our Site Council (in conjunction with our Instructional Leadership Team), our PTA and membership on the Southeast Guiding Coalition (SEGC).

    • Parents, students and teachers will be provided with a compact that will stipulate the roles of parents, teachers and students in their efforts to improve student achievement. These are made available at conferences.
