Street Safety Improvements:  Through the Portland Bureau of Transportation's Fixing Our Streets program, Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is expecting to make a large investment in safety improvements around Portland schools in the next few years. This spring we're asking families to help us figure out what is needed most. In collaboration with PPS, we will be hosting open houses in each high school cluster.

We are excited to invite your school community to participate in the SRTS Fixing Our Streets open house for the Madison Cluster - Wednesday, April 12, from 6-8 pm at Scott School, 6700 NE Prescott. This event will help inform where and how the City’s Bureau of Transportation will spend $695,000 in the cluster.

The purpose of the open house is to listen to families and school staff about safety concerns around their school and to identify major routes used to walk and roll to the schools. Safe Routes to School is excited to help make these routes safer and more enjoyable for your families.

You are also invited to join me on our Community Walk on Wednesday, April 19 at 2:30PM where we will actually walk the route between Scott and Hacienda to experience the route and give specific input.
