About Portland Evening and Summer Scholars
Portland Evening Scholars and Portland Summer Scholars are Portland Public Schools-operated credit recovery programs for high school students. The two programs merged together during the 2015-16 school year to form "Portland Evening and Summer Scholars." This change in title better reflects the similar goals, use of staff & resources, etc. that the two programs share.
Both programs take place in Grant HS, Franklin HS, McDaniel HS & Roosevelt HS. Students from all over the PPS area can attend classes that occur outside of their regular class time. This allows students to continue taking classes at their day school and take additional classes during the evenings or summer.
