Meet the Team

At Bridger Creative Science School we are critical thinkers, courageous problem-solvers, and compassionate community builders. Our mission as student service providers is to foster an environment where students are empowered to be co-creators in their educational experience and to develop their academic, social-emotional and career readiness skills. 

We believe that schools can be safe, inspiring places for all students to be themselves and thrive and we are grateful to partner with this community to play a part in that!

Kate Bennett

Hi there! I’m Kate (she/her) and this is my 4th year as a school counselor in PPS! I got my start working with students in Long Beach, CA and when I moved to Portland in 2010, I continued nonprofit youth work until I took a job in the main office at Creative Science School in 2014. From there I discovered I truly wanted to be a professional school counselor and went back to school. I love this work and I’m so grateful to move alongside CSS into our BCS era. 

When I’m not at school you can find me reading, painting, swimming, watching movies, and laughing with my friends. Could this be the year I finally get all the kids to start calling me “Cool Kate”? Fingers crossed!
