About Us
Established in 1923, Laurelhurst School is tucked away in the tree-lined streets of Portland's historic Laurelhurst neighborhood. Our compact campus includes a beautiful brick main building with lovely architectural details, a cafeteria adorned with stained glass depicting iconic Oregon, a large turf field, covered sports court, several small gardens and nature-oriented areas, and a state-of-the-art play structure installed in 2025. As a neighborhood school, we foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Our teachers and support staff offer a welcoming and supportive school academic environment that appreciates and encourages community involvement. Our strong PTA offers opportunities for families to participate in events, committees, field trips, and in the classroom. We pride ourselves on our strong partnerships with our families and the community to honor and support each of our students. In the unique K-8 learning environment, we get to know students from their earliest years until they are ready to launch into their high school careers.
