• Welcome to the Woodlawn School Library!

The Woodlawn Library will foster a love of reading and literature, empower students to be critical thinkers and problem solvers, celebrate diversity, and provide a welcoming environment for our community.

Woodlawn Librarian - Steffanie Audel, MEd

This is my seventh year here at Woodlawn and I so enjoy being part of this strong community! Originally, I am from Austin, Texas and I have a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and a MEd from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. I have been a librarian for 19 years and before that I taught prek. My other areas of certification include ESL, special education, early childhood, and general elementary education. I am very passionate about books and helping children learn to love literature and have a positive experience with libraries. I also love talking about science and social justice issues with our students. I love animals (I have a dog and several cats), gardening, going to the beach, travel, reading, and spending time with my family. My favorite book is whichever one I just finished usually but one of my favorite picture books is Sam and Dave Dig A Hole by Mac Barnett and adult book is The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck.

I welcome volunteers in the library and love to build relationships with the whole family. Families are welcome to come to the library after school to check out books too. You can email me at saudel@pps.net. Happy reading!

Woodlawn Library Assistant - Caroline Peters

Hello Wildcats! I’m so excited to be working at Woodlawn! I’ve been working in PPS libraries for over 13 years, and I started at Buckman Arts Elementary School when my daughter, Sophie, was in the fifth grade there. I’m originally from the Chicago area, but am enjoying the West Coast life now. My family owns a local bookstore so books are a large part of my life. One of my favorite adult book writers is nonfiction author, Erik Larson. I really like children’s author, Mo Willems, and my favorite book of his is City Dog, Country Frog. One of my best school library memories is curling up in a window cubby reading Encyclopedia Brown books week after week. I enjoy traveling and my favorite place in Oregon is Smith Rock. I love cooking, reading, going on hikes, and watching movies (I went to film school!) Our young Labrador Retriever, Stella, and old Russian Blue kitty, Olive, keep me busy!

My favorite part of my job is helping students find books to read so feel free to email me at cpeters@pps.net with questions or requests!
