• Before and After School Programs & Services
The Alameda Community is fortunate to have a variety of programs and services to enrich our student's lives and support our families.
Programs with "*PTA" would not be possible without the support of The Alameda PTA's fundraising and volunteer efforts.
    After School Enrichment Classes
A number of local artists and teachers offer afterschool camps and classes for Alameda students. These organizations are independent of Alameda Elementary and Portland Public Schools. Class offerings include art, theatre, language, science, and more. For more information, watch for Efliers from the PPS Peachjar e-mail system and/or postings on the Alameda lobby bulletin board.
Bike and Walk to School Program *PTA
This is a once per month promotion to encourage students to walk, bike, skate, or scooter to school. Students who routinely take the bus or are driven to school are asked to walk to the bus stop and/or park some distance from school and walk the rest of the way. This program promotes health and wellbeing, as well as encouraging the use of alternative forms of transportation. As a part of this program, students are also invited to participate in International Bike and Walk to School Day in early October as well as the Bike and Walk challenge that takes place in the month of May.

For more information about this program, please contact , Jason Plumb and Christophe Esayian, leaders for the Bike and Walk to School Program, at walkandbike@alamedaschool.org.

The YMCA of the Columbia-Willamette operates a before and after-school care program for Alameda families. For more information about this program, contact the YMCA.
