    🐛 E — Everybody Books

Everybody Books (E) are picture books for everyone!
They have colorful illustrations and stories that can be read aloud or enjoyed independently.
Perfect for all ages — from Pre-K through adults who love great stories.

🌱 ER — Early Reader Books

Early Readers (ER) are designed for beginning readers.
These books help you grow your reading skills with simple words, short sentences, and fun stories.
The more you read, the stronger your reading muscles get!

💥 Graphic Novels (2nd Grade and Above)

Graphic novels tell stories through pictures and words — like a comic book, but longer!
They’re great for readers in 2nd grade and up who are ready for more complex stories.

    • Advantage: They’re colorful and fun, and someone else draws the pictures for you.

    • Disadvantage: Your brain doesn’t get to imagine all the pictures on its own.
Still, they’re a great way to enjoy reading and build comprehension skills!

    📖 Fiction Section

Fiction books are made-up stories that take you to new places and help you see life through other people’s eyes.
They can be mirrors (reflecting your own life) or windows (showing you someone else’s).
Explore adventures, mysteries, fantasies, and more!

    📘 Chapter Books

Chapter books are perfect for students in 1st–3rd grade (especially 2nd!).
They have short chapters, fun illustrations, and characters you’ll want to follow from page to page.

    🧠 Non-Fiction Books

Non-fiction books are filled with facts!
They teach you about real people, animals, history, science, and the world around you.
You can spot them by their Dewey Decimal numbers (000–999).

    💬 Biography Section

Biographies are stories about real people’s lives — past and present.
Find inspiring tales of leaders, artists, athletes, scientists, and more.

🇯🇵 Manga (3rd Grade and Above)

Manga are Japanese-style graphic novels that are read from right to left and front to back!
Students in 3rd grade and above can explore Manga once they’re comfortable reading and tracking story panels in a new direction.
They often feature dynamic art, exciting adventures, and emotional stories.

    📚 YA — Young Adult

YA books are for grades 6–8 only.
They’re written for teens and may include mature themes, but they’re not about reading level — they’re about life experiences and growing up.

    🌎 Reference Section

These are books that stay in the library so everyone can use them.
Reference books include encyclopedias, atlases, and dictionaries.
They’re often large, expensive, and always available for quick facts and research help.

    📖 OBOB Section

This section holds all the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) titles for the year.
These books are chosen for the annual reading competition — great reads whether or not you’re on a team!

    🎉 Series Shelves

You’ll find both Fiction Series and Non-Fiction Series here.
Series books let you follow the same characters, themes, or topics through multiple stories or volumes.
