"Even though we are apart, we are still united through technology! Let's continue our learning together!"
Dear ACCESS ATOMS,
We reach out to you from our new home base for distant learning. This change has moved people to adapt in many ways. We are all learning to be patient and flexible. We have seen the hard work it has taken to continue with school work, but more importantly we are glad to see people connecting with each other. Teachers and students have opened their homes through the screen as the level of contact and connection continues to exists. It is differnt and it will take some time to adjust.
Many parents, teachers and students are already planning opportunities to share online. We will continue to modify this page and add fun ways to stay in touch with other ATOMS. You can find a schedule for each teacher by section below. For the Elementary, look for the slides from your Specials teachers this Monday, they want to send you a message. Please continue to log on to your student Google Classroom each week to hear from your teacher.
Start by going to the Student and Parent Portal where you will find all the online tools. Go directly to Google Classroom or Seesaw. With your student login and password you can also go to Clever for all the district apps and online tools including access to Google Class and Remind. Bookmark for quick access. For help with login and password click here.
Please know that Portland Public Schools has alignment with the state of Oregon to issue specific guidelines with regard to instructional time. Those guidelines refer to “live” sessions and “asynchronous” activities, the majority of which are student-led. These schedules and work offered on Google Classroom are there for students to continue to learn, yet it is up to each family to discern what their student’s capacity is for distance learning. It is not our intent to overwhelm students or to cause additional stress for your family. Students can do the best they can and not put too much pressure on themselves as they work to get into a routine.
