In a few short weeks, construction will begin to create a new Lincoln High School. Come join the community in a groundbreaking celebration on Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, on the Lincoln field at the lower entrance to the school at the cafeteria. Lincoln will be the fifth high school to be modernized thanks to voter support and it will be completely rebuilt into a multi-story structure. Click here to view a groundbreaking event flyer.

    Lincoln construction details
Lincoln and the currently under construction Madison High and Kellogg Middle schools were all funded by the May 2017 Health & Safety and Modernization Bond. Benson Polytechnic, also included in that bond, will begin construction in the summer of 2021.

In the fall of 2022, the new Lincoln High School building will open on the west side of the existing campus. In 2023, the new track and field will open on the site currently occupied by the existing school. During construction of the new building, students will continue attending school in the current Lincoln building. Construction activities will be separated by fencing providing a safe environment for students and staff. For more information, visit the Lincoln rebuild website.

    An inclusive celebration ceremony
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will include a Native American land acknowledgement and speakers that include Lincoln students, notable alumni and community leaders. Festivities and entertainment will continue throughout the morning and include tours of the campus. All events honor the rich tradition and community of Lincoln High school, home of inspired global thinkers working for a more just, equitable, and peaceful world.

    Lincoln Rebuild Summary
The Lincoln rebuild includes a new multi-story building with performing arts spaces, a student commons, an expanded gymnasium facility and state of the art classrooms. There will be a plaza adjacent to the student commons for outdoor activities and to connect the campus to the surrounding neighborhood through a pedestrian-friendly design.
