Mt. Tabor Middle School PTA
We support MTMS by funding classroom grants, field trips, library activities, and other school programs. We meet four times a year. We recruit volunteers to help with MTMS and PTA activities. We sponsor special programs during the year to strengthen the MTMS community. As a PTA, we work with local, state, and national organizations to advocate for children.

PTA General Information
Joining the PTA allows us to keep up the support for classrooms, activities, and special events at MTMS. Membership is $15 per person per school year. Please fill out the PTA Membership form (here) and return to the MTMS office with a check or pay online through SchoolPay (but still return the paper form please):
We have opportunities large and small throughout the year. Key opportunities are listed here:
- Chaperone a school dance along with staff members: 10/24 or 2/13
- PTA Clothing Center: help families in need shop for clothes
- Picture days: assist photographers in organizing students: 9/13 for school pictures, 9/22 for retakes, 3/13 for 8th grade pics, 3/19 for club pictures
- Staff appreciation: implement staff appreciation ideas during staff appreciation week (usually in May). Board will support.
- Outdoor Committee: help plan, organize and fundraise for the garden and playground improvements
- Movie nights: help plan, organize and serve food, chaperone.
- Blazer’s Fundraiser: will be 12/10. Need a volunteer to take the lead on organizing.
We are actively seeking an Equity Chair and Parent Representatives from the Spanish Immersion and Hard of Hearing programs.

We try not to bother with lots of fundraising programs. Instead, we seek to raise $3,000 in direct donations each year from members and the community. You can donate by writing a check to MTMS PTA (deliver it to the MTMS office) or through pps.SchoolPay.com, under the “Nonprofit Groups” tab.
PTA Meetings, Programs, and Other Dates
We have several nights a year when we revenue share with local restaurants. This is an important revenue stream for the PTA to support MTMS. Look on our communications for dates, which are TBD for the 2019-20 school year.
