KBPS Grading Policy Info for Parents & Students:
In the KBPS Broadcasting class grade book, most assignments are worth 10 points. Incomplete and missing assignments will be given a score of "2" until they are completed and submitted. You can review this in Synergy (ParentVue / StudentVue.) 2's are simply place-holders for work not submitted yet. Students should submit or re-submit assignments until the full 10 points are earned.
I am very diligent about grading and entering points in the grade book within 24 hours of submission. If you see 2's in your student's Synergy, please offer encouragement at home to complete the work in Canvas. Once students turn in the assignment correctly, they will be given full credit. Students are allowed to submit KBPS work for full credit at any time, but they are strongly encouraged to submit all work by the due date.
KBPS assignments, daily work, and classwork make up 70% of the total grade. KBPS tests make up 30% of the total grade. All KBPS tests are open notes, open book, and unlimited retakes. Students may retake a test as many times as they would like; Only the highest test score is kept in the grade book.
I'm always happy to chat, meet with parents, answer questions, and help. Please contact me anytime. My preferred contact is via email. I respond to emails within 24 hours. My email is jacpatterson@pps.net - You can also call the KBPS classroom phone at 503-916-5100 ex. 88130.
