  • Plan ahead for HTMS Grade 8 Commencement

This year, the 8th grade commencement ceremony will be on THURSDAY, JUNE 9th at HTMS.

Time TBD and announced at a later date.

    Congratulations, Legends!

  • Leap Into 9th Grade is coming!

Hello 8th grade students and families!  We wanted to let you know about an awesome opportunity for students who will be in 9th grade next year.  We know it sounds crazy, but high school is right around the corner!  We also know some of you might be nervous or anxious, while others might be super excited.  Some of you may be all of those things at once.  So many emotions!
To help you get ready, high schools offer something called Leap into 9th grade, which prepares incoming 9th graders to excel in high school by building a foundation for success before starting high school.  Students who attend will have the advantage of being in their high school building (and getting familiar with the layout) before school starts, meeting new people, and earning .5 elective credit (remember, you need six elective credits to graduate and a half a year of class equals .5 credit).  Leap into 9th Grade is available at Grant, Jefferson, Roosevelt, McDaniel, and more.
Leap into 9th Grade is a three week, half-day program from June 27 - July 15, from 9:00am - 12:30pm.  Breakfast and lunch are provided, as is a Trimet bus pass.  It's very experience-based and a lot of hands-on learning.  You can find some more information on the PPS website here: Leap into 9th Grade / Leap into 9th Grade (pps.net)
You need to register by May 1, and can do so here: 2022 Leap into 9th Grade Registration (google.com).
Please let us know if you have any questions!
    Thank you,
    Ms. Drew and Ms. Katie
