Mental Health & Wellness
Mental health and the wellness of our community is essential to the success of each and everyone of our students here at Sitton Elementary School. Accordingly, our mental health & wellness team works collaboratively with teachers, staff, families, students and community partners to support the academic success and social emotional well-being for every child. This can be provided by individual student interventions and support, staff professional development, family resources and community technical assistance.
National Child Abuse Prevention Month
During the month of April we acknowledged National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse. April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in the United States since 1983. This website may be useful to families (https://kidshealth.org/en/
parents/child-abuse.html). Please speak with your children about safety and how to ask for help if they find themselves in an unsafe situation.
