PTA Membership Q & A
Q: What does my PTA Membership pay for?
Membership dues support events, equipment and teacher resources at RGMS. We work closely with our principal and teachers to meet their needs to support our students. A portion of the dues also goes to the Oregon PTA, which provides administrative and governance support to all school PTAs and gives us a statewide voice in education funding and other issues important to our students, schools and community.
Q: Why should I join?
To support our children, teachers and school programs and to be able to vote on the PTA budget and other important decisions the PTA makes at its general meetings. Our membership numbers are tracked by the Oregon PTA and a strong PTA membership at RGMS shows strong parent involvement at our school.
Q: How often are the PTA Meetings?
We hold three general PTA meetings a year. The first is Oct. 11 at 6:30 pm at the school. Look for email reminders and follow us on Facebook @robertgraymiddleschool. The RGMS PTA Board meets monthly, so if you have an issue that needs PTA attention, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How can I get more involved at Robert Gray?
Turn in the volunteer sign-up sheet at Fall Registration, Aug. 15-16, email to email@example.com or message us on Facebook @robertgraymiddleschool and let us know about your skills, interests and availability. Or, fill out the online form at www.volunteer.rgms.org. We will look for opportunities to get you involved. Thank you!
Q: How do I contribute to Robert Gray without buying all the “STUFF”?
We keep fundraisers to a minimum, focusing most of our energy on Run for Gray and a new annual auction that supports PTA and our Chromebooks campaign. You are also more than welcome to donate directly to the PTA. 100% of the proceeds go to the school and are tax deductible. Thank you for your involvement!
