  • Career Related Learning Experience (CRLE)

    What is a CRLE?

Career-Related Learning Experiences (CRLEs) are structured educational experiences that connect learning to the world beyond the classroom. PPS requires students to write reflections about two CRLEs, but most students complete many throughout their four years of high school. Some CRLEs happen at school and are arranged by your teacher. If you are in a Career Tech Class (CTE) like Engineering, Construction, CS, or Theater Arts, most field trips you go on will also count as a CRLE. Students can use this CRLE Form to fill out reflections for CRLEs. Some examples of CRLEs are:

    • Internships
    • Job shadows
    • Part-time job
    • Volunteering
    • Field trips where you were exposed to a career(s)
    • Class projects, especially in a CTE class
    • Career Days - the Career Coordinator will post these
    • Career Fairs such as the NW Career EXPO
    • Mock Interviews and Resume Workshops
    • Career-themed Lecture or Guest Speaker
    • Worksite Company Tours
    • Community Service Projects/Volunteering
    • One-on-one interview with a professional

Use this CRLE Form to fill out your reflections for CRLE Experience #1 and CRLE Experience #2.

    Resume

A resume is a one-page summary of your skills, education, experience, honors, and activities that you can use to show your qualifications for jobs, scholarships, and college applications. It highlights your abilities and achievements, including work history, academic background, and relevant skills, serving as a crucial marketing document to secure an interview with a potential employer or admissions committee. The My Plan Project/Essay

The My Plan Project/Essay is a formal reflection of a student’s high school experiences related to college and career, community, and future plans and goals. The My Plan Project supports the district’s goal for every PPS student to graduate college and career-ready with an informed post-high school plan. This requirement is assigned in senior English classes and graded by the teacher. Once a student passes, the school career coordinator will enter the grade into Synergy.
