• 2017-18 Forecasting Information

Course forecasting and scheduling for the 2017-18 school year is quickly upon us! There are some changes to our process this year to better streamline our data entry and counselor review.  We encourage you to be a part of your student’s course planning and take this opportunity to discuss their 4-year graduation and post-graduation plans. Your students will receive resources the first week of January, including information about prerequisites, graduation requirements and International Baccalaureate. The course guide explaining all courses offered is currently available online below.

Please review this information carefully. It is highly recommended that you also review your student’s transcript with them before making course selections. Student transcripts are available in StudentVue by selecting Course History (on the far left) -> Graduation Status (on the far right).

All students will receive a paper copy of the course guide and a paper forecasting sheet at class informational meetings:

This year, Cleveland is implementing a two-step process for forecasting:

    • Students will need to complete the paper forecasting sheet using the course guide and course
options on the back of the sheet to help select appropriate courses. Please follow all instructions on this sheet. This has been intentionally redesigned to provide you with graduation requirements and provide grade-specific options to ensure a successful 4-year plan.
    • Online forecasting will be accessible through the links below and is also listed on the paper forecasting sheet. Students will be allowed one opportunity to select the same courses online as they completed on the paper forecasting sheet.
    • The online forecasting will be open on 1/4 and will close on 2/3/17. The link will be disabled on February 3rd and no more forecasting forms can be submitted after that date.

Forecasting is not considered complete until both the online form is submitted
AND the paper forecasting sheet is turned into the SSC.

Counselors will be available for general questions in the Main Hall during lunch on 1/9-1/11. For students needing additional support to complete the online forecasting, the cafeteria will be open during FLEX on 1/12 and 1/13.

Counselors will review all online forecasting information to ensure that the forecasted classes align to the students’ 4-year graduation plan.  If additional attention is needed to the selected courses, counselors will meet with individual students.

Thank you for your support as we try to implement new systems to better serve our students. Forecasting can be an exciting time and we hope you enjoy looking through the amazing course options we offer at Cleveland High School.
