Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I go to take my exams?
All Cleveland High School IB exams will take place at either The Melody Event Center or Cleveland High School according to this schedule. All subject exams include two to three component exams and are scheduled over two days, except for Math Analysis HL, which is scheduled over three days. You can use the Trivory app to track IB exam dates and locations. For additional information about exam locations, see the 2024 Exam Overview.
Note: IB exams in Physics, World Religions and French, all Language B listening exams and all exams with approved accommodations are scheduled at Cleveland.
- What should I bring with me?
Be sure to bring two or more ballpoint pens (black or blue), an approved model calculator for designated math and science exams, and a clear, see-through water bottle. Review a complete list of what to bring and what not to bring in the 2024 Exam Overview.
- Am I excused from my classes during my exams?
Yes. You will be EXCUSED for the full day on the date of each of your scheduled exams - either AM or PM. However, you are encouraged to attend class whenever your exam schedule allows you to do so. Please be aware of each individual teacher’s plans for the classes you miss, and requirements, if any, for make-up work.
- When will I know my results?
Your scores will be available at https://candidates.ibo.org on July 6th, 2024 anytime after 12 p.m. You will be emailed an individual Personal Code and PIN in April that you can use to access your results. PLEASE save this email/information in a safe location. In the event that you lose your codes, please contact the IB Coordinator, Jamie Incorvia, at jincorvia@pps.net.
- How do I send my scores to my college?
Seniors will be asked to complete a survey and indicate the college they will be attending in the fall. IB Results for seniors will be forwarded to the college they plan to attend in Fall 2024 for the purpose of obtaining credit or advanced placement. If you are taking a gap year, you will need to order an IB transcript when you enroll in college. You must do this by using the form and process on the IB website at www.ibo.org and paying the required $17 fee. Keep your email with your personal code and session number, as you will need these to order a transcript. We will forward IB results for juniors taking exams next year, when they are seniors. Please contact the IB Coordinator with questions.
- Is it too late to withdraw from IB exams?
If you are still enrolled in your IB course, we strongly encourage you to stick with your plan to participate in exams. Unfortunately, students withdrawing after January 12, 2024 forfeit their payment of exam fees AND must also reimburse the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) $20 for each subject withdrawal. Students accessing financial aid options or payment plans may owe additional fees, up to the full amount of $119/subject.
