• SAT Test Day

Starting this year, SAT will be digital on the Bluebook app (already installed on their chromebooks), which means students will be testing using their PPS Chromebook device. Please remind students to fully charge their chromebook the night before so there enough juice to last them through testing, which is approximately 3 hours (this includes the Readiness Check prior to testing).

All students will be automatically registered for this exam so they do not need to worry about registering for it and there is no cost for juniors to take the SAT exam.

    1. Arrive at the McDaniel campus and be at your assigned room by 8:30 AM. Doors will close at 8:45am so please arrive on time. Otherwise, you will not be able to take the exam.

    1. Your proctor will provide you with your sign-in credentials to input into the Exam App.  Please follow the instructions provided to you by the Exam App and your proctor.

    1. Bring must bring the following required items:

      1.  Acceptable photo ID

      2. Fully charged chromebook

      3. Acceptable calculator if you choose not to use the built-in Desmos calculator in the Exam App

    1. Smart watches and cell phones are not allowed during testing. You can leave them at home or they will be placed in a plastic bag and left with the proctor at the front of the classroom.

    1. You CANNOT eat during the test, but lunch is available until 1:30pm if students are interested in eating lunch once their exam is done. Breakfast will be available starting at 7:45am.

    1. You MAY bring a filled water bottle and snack into the classroom to keep under your desk to eat/drink during breaks.

    1. Calculators.  For tests with math questions, the app has a built-in calculator. Students can drag it anywhere on the screen. If students would like to use a physical calculator, they can bring an acceptable calculator (Acceptable Calculators) or we have one for students to check out.

    1. You can check your room assignments: This will be provided a few days before testing day.

The total standard testing time for tests in the digital SAT Suite is 2 hours and 14 minutes. There are 2 sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students with standard timing will have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section. This does not include 15-30 minutes of the Readiness Check on their chromebook prior to the start of testing.
