      Portland Pearl Rotary Club Youth Exchange

      As a Rotary Youth Exchange student, you’ll spend up to a year living with a few host families and attending school in a different country. Whether you participate in Rotary’s long-term or short-term Youth Exchange programs, you’ll learn a new way of living, a great deal about yourself, and practice using a new language.

      Freshmen students are encouraged to apply by submitting a preliminary application before April 1 of their freshman year.  Candidates will be interviewed in late April. The selected student will then spend their sophomore year participating in Rotary Youth Exchange orientation activities and then go on exchange during their junior year.       Carpe Diem

      Extending to 5 continents and 19 countries, Carpe Diem Education provides semester and year-long programs for students aged 17-22. Our gap year programs challenge perspectives, embolden critical thinking, and inspire a greater sense of self through enhanced global perspectives. Balancing hard work with fun-filled adventure; finding laughter in the midst of serious inquiry; we discover the depths of our humanity together.

      School Year Abroad, SYA

      SYA is a school fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Founded upon a yearlong study abroad model, SYA operates four campuses in China, France, Italy, and Spain, and has expanded to provide a wide array of programs designed to develop skills for an increasingly interdependent world. SYA's yearlong program remains the only secondary-level option allowing students to live with a host family for an entire academic year while earning U.S. graduation credits and preparing for admission to selective U.S. colleges and universities.
