Jefferson High School Middle College for Advanced Studies offers students a unique opportunity to participate in the whole high school experience while taking college courses at Jefferson and Portland Community College.

On the Jefferson campus, students take a variety of dual-credit courses. These classes are taught in Jefferson classrooms by Jefferson teachers and meet the level required to earn college credit. Students can receive: Portland Community College credit for Junior English (Integrated Reading and Writing IRW 115); Math in Society (MATH 105), Pre-Calculus (MTH 111), and Calculus (MTH 251); Oregon Institute of Technology credit for Anatomy & Physiology/BIO 103; and Portland State University credit for Senior Inquiry.

Students kick off their PCC path with a College Guidance course in the spring of their sophomore year. Students can register for open PCC courses beginning in the summer before junior year. Courses can be taken during the school day, after school, or on weekends. Students can take up to 5 credits/term at PCC (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring).

For a Middle College Diploma, students must pass at least 12 college credits with at least two courses instructed at PCC (not dual-credit).
