Support for School Personnel
Supports for school personnel are provided for staff to support a student in attaining progress towards annual goals, to support the involvement and progress in the general education curriculum and to participate in extracurricular and other nonacademic activities; and to support the education and participation with other children with disabilities and children without disabilities.
PPS Assistive Technology Team consists of specialists with backgrounds in occupational therapy, teaching and speech-language pathology. Their mission is to provide best practices to support the success of learners in PPS in the areas of assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Autism Services supports school staff; including special education teachers, general education teachers, para-professionals and any staff needing support; as they work with students identified as have an eligibility of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Direction Services provides support to students with complex mental health, behavioral and educational needs enrolling in PPS following an extended absence from a public school setting.
The PPS Feeding Team is comprised of professionals who assess students who are potentially at risk when eating at school, develop procedures and written protocols for safe eating, train school staff in safe feeding/eating protocols, provide regular follow-up to school staff, and refer to community medical agencies as necessary.
