• Grant’s Constitution Team wins state, earns trip to nationals

    Grant won the "We the People" state Constitution contest for the second year in a row, and 12th time overall.

    Grant High School won the “We the People” state Constitution competition for the second year in a row. The Generals beat their longtime rival, Lincoln, and four other teams Jan. 13 at the Mark. O Hatfield Courthouse. Grant will compete in the national event April 28-30 in Washington, D.C.

    The win was Grant’s 12th in the last 17 years of the competition, which started in 1987. Lincoln, which finished runner-up, won the other 19 years.

    The Generals, who finished runner-up at nationals last year, will try to win nationals for the third time. Lincoln has won six national titles, the last in 2016.
