Portland Public Schools students who are in their final year of middle school, along with their families, will be able to learn about their future high schools at the annual information nights that begin later this month.

The sessions will be held virtually this year because of COVID-19 precautions. Neighborhood, focus-option and alternative high schools will give students and families the opportunity to hear from teachers and staff and learn about the campus, academic and other programs.

More details about the sessions, as well as other information about our high schools, will be available at pps.net/8thgradeinfo. The page will be updated with dates, times and information on how to join sessions as they are finalized.

In PPS, high school students attend their neighborhood school, or they may apply to attend Benson Polytechnic High School, Jefferson High School-Middle College for Advanced Studies or the Metropolitan Learning Center. Families that would like their student to attend one of those three schools will need to apply for a lottery slot. This year’s lottery window runs from November 29 to December 17.

Information regarding the 2022-23 lottery will be sent to eligible families shortly. Please contact your school counselor or the PPS Enrollment and Transfer Center at 503-916-3205 or email enrollment-office@pps.net with any questions.
