• PPS Multiple Pathways to Graduation Alternative, Charter, and DART Schools and MPG District-Wide program 2025-26 School Year Start Dates

    Charter Schools (K-5/K-8)

    • Emerson: Students in grades 2-5 begin on Tuesday, August 26. First graders begin Thursday August 28, and Kindergarteners begin on Friday, August 29.

    • Kairos PDX: All students in K-5 began on Wednesday, August 6.

    • Ivy*:  Students in grades K, 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 begin on September 2, grades 2, 3, 5 begin on September 8.  

    • LeMonde French Immersion: Grades 1 -8 start on August 26. Kindergarteners start on Friday, August 29.

    • The Cottonwood School of Civics and Science*: Students in grades 1-8 begin on September 2. Kindergarteners begin on September 3. 

    • Portland Arthur Academy: All students in grades K-5 start on September 2.

    • Portland Village School: All students in grades K-8 begin on August 27.

    Alternative Schools and programs (K-12, 6-8, 9-12) 

    In-district Alternative Schools

    • Alliance Alternative High School: Students attending the Alliance 4-day program, including students in Success Academy, return to full classes on August 26th. Students attending the Alliance 5-day program return on August 26th to register for classes and to create Grad Plans for the upcoming school year - classes begin on August 27th for 5-day students.

    • Metropolitan Learning Center, K-12 Alternative: Students will complete beginning of the year conferences on August 26 and August 27; 1st thru 12th graders start school on August 28. The first full day for all kindergarten students starts on September 2. There will be a staggered start for kindergartners on August 28 and August 29. 

    Contracted Alternative Schools (CBOs)

    • Helensview Middle and High School:  All students begin on August 26.

    • Mt. Scott Learning Center: All high school students begin on Thursday, August 21.

    • NAYA Many Nations Academy: All students in grades 9-12 begin September 6.

    • Rosemary Anderson Middle and High Schools: All students grade 6-12 begin September 2.

    • Open School: All students in grades 9-12 start on September 2 

    • PCC Gateway to College and YES! To College: Students begin Monday, September 22.

    • Portland Youth Builders: All students in grades 9-12 begin Monday August 12 

    Day and Residential Treatment (DART) K-12 Schools: 

    • Counterpoint School:  All students begin on August 26.

    • Edwards School: All students begin on August 26.

    • Kuumba school (previously Clinton school): All students begin on August 26.

    • Souther School: All students begin on August 26.

    • SAGE School:  Student conferences on August 26 and classes begin August 27. 

    MPG District-Wide Programs:

    • Reconnection Center: Returning students begin August 26.  New students should contact reconnect@pps.net.

    • Portland Evening and Summer Scholars: Enrollment for the 2025 fall semester for Evening Scholars will begin in early September.  Please check the webpage for updates and locations: https://www.pps.net/pess. First evening of classes will begin on September 29th at 5:00 pm. 

    • Teen Parent Services: The first day for students in grades 9 and 12 is August 27. Students in grades 10-11 begin on August 28.

    • Virtual Scholars: The first day for students in grades 9 and 12 is August 27. Students in grades 10-11 begin on August 28. (NOTE: VS will adapt based on each high school’s starting schedule
