IYLC 209-20 Operational Information for Presenters and Exhibitors

    Parking: Unfortunately PSU is not in a position to secure any sort of parking allotment for everyone attending the IYLC.   We will have to compete with the rest of Portland in trying to find a convenient spot near the campus.  PSU does have several parking structures available.     We encourage all of our guests to take advantage of Trimet or the Streetcar to get to the Conference. More info on the PSU interactive map http://map.pdx.edu/#/map

    Check-in:  Check in opens on the 3rd floor of Smith Hall at 7:30 AM. You are welcome to join us for the whole conference day, but please be sure to arrive at PSU at least 30 minutes before your first scheduled session. Please feel free to check in between 7:30am-9:00am.  Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:00am.

    PSU Guest Wi-fi: If you don’t have an Odin account and you need Wi-Fi access during your visit to campus, you can sign up for a guest account and you’ll be given access that lasts for 24 hours. If you need more time to use the Internet, feel free to repeat this process.

    Obtaining a PSU Guest Wi-Fi Account

    1. Select the Wi-Fi network PSU Guest.
    2. Open a web browser and visit any non-HTTPS website (try http://pdx.edu). You will be redirected to the PSU Guest Wi-Fi Access page.
    3. Read through the Acceptable Use Policy.
    4. Select Accept.

    Note: You will not be able to access the network until you select Accept on the PSU Guest Wi-Fi Access page.

    Food: There will be light breakfast snacks and coffee available to presenters and exhibitors in our registration area in the morning.  You are also welcome to join us for for lunch, but please keep in mind that our priority is to feed our kids first, so we ask that you wait until our lunch crowd subsides before you make your way to our food station. If you are need of something more substantial, there are plenty of food choices around the campus for you to choose from.

    Student Cohorts: You may be understandably curious about the breakdown of how many students, schools and what languages will be represented in your session(s).  We are still in the process of creating cohorts, and will be in touch again with more details in the week approaching the Conference.

    We have done our best to have a diverse set of students in each session but will not be able to provide interpreters for every language and for every session. There will bilingual staff and ESL teachers at the IYLC and we are happy to connect you with ESL staff for any questions you might have about engaging with our EBs.
