* = SAA Required. The Safety and Stabilization Assessment (SSA) is a tool that all local domestic violence agencies use to assess survivors’ housing and shelter needs. The process of accessing housing services, including emergency shelter, begins with completing an SSA. During the SSA an advocate will ask you a series of questions about your relationship and housing history, and then guide you to the best available resources based on your specific situation. The Gateway Center is the main resource for completing an SSA. Gateway Center 503-988-6400
