School-Age Child Care

  • Child Care During Distance Learning

PPS partners with child care organizations who offer licensed child care during Comprehensive Distance Learning. These contracted providers are operating fee-based child care programs in 10 schools, with each school enrolling 2 small cohorts of 15 students. Child care staff offers distance learning support and enrichment for children ages 5-12. These organizations will reserve 50% of the spaces for families qualifying for State subsidies (also referred to as Employment Related Day Care (ERDC). After 2 weeks, if these spaces have not been filled, providers will open them up to the community. For more information about ERDC eligibility, click here

  • Fall 2020: Update on Child Care

On September 9, the district released communication to families with updates on child care beginning in the Fall of 2020. Although our school buildings are closed due to State of Oregon COVID-19 restrictions, we are able to make them available for our partnered child care providers. To read information on Emergency Child Care licensing rules, how providers prioritize low income families, and safe reopening through our phased approach, visit the Fall 2020: Update on Child Care letter.
