Amy Durham
Amy Durham has been teaching Spanish at Ida B. Wells for 15 years. In her 21 years as an educator, she’s also worked at Grant and Jefferson high school. She grew up in Portland and was first inspired to become a teacher after being a camp counselor at Outdoor School. Durham received her master’s degree in Spanish at Portland State. In her free time, she is a cyclist, runner and assistant cross-country coach. The coolest experience she’s ever had was hiking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain with a group of students from IBW, and says “I consider it a true privilege to work in a community where I live, with students who are passionate about learning and show up ready to learn every day…I feel really lucky to be part of this school community.”
