Degrees and Certifications:
I am so excited to be joining the Wilson High School community! I am coming from three years with Reconnection Services, a PPS department that supports students 6th-12th grade who are disengaging from school.
I grew up in the Portland-Metro area, specifically in East County where I attended Gresham High School, later moving and graduating from Sam Barlow. I attended Portland State University receiving a BA in English Literature, followed by graduate school, obtaining a Master of Social Work. I spent many years running writing groups at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility and my passion as a school social worker revolves around racial equity and disrupting the school to prison pipeline.
I am the mother to a West Sylvan Middle School student. In my spare time I like to spend time with my daughter and our pets, go camping, read (currently reading There There by Tommy Orange), and tend to my newly, semi thriving apartment balcony urban garden.
