Alyson Croney

Alyson Croney is a history teacher at Ida B. Wells, where she has spent three of her 10 years in education. She was a behavior specialist for two years before realizing that she enjoyed spending her time more with older students. She grew up in Corvallis, OR, and majored in History with a second degree in Art History at Willamette University before receiving her master’s at the University of Puget Sound. After college, Croney worked in the athletic department at her previous universities, but was inspired to become an educator because she always loved school as a child. Her favorite part of IBW is the students, and says “Not every school has students who will want to chat with you… the students here are a lot of fun.” In her free time Croney enjoys reading, exploring coffee shops and hanging out with her cat and dog. The coolest experience she’s ever had is when she got the opportunity to live in Amsterdam for a few months, where she was hit by a bike, but is luckily fine now.
