• Visual Supports

Using Visuals to support instruction is an evidenced based practice and can be a tremendous support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

    Lanyard Visuals

Having visuals on your lanyard can provide quick access to support students in the moment.

    Useful Icons

These are common and useful prompts that a teacher or para-educator can use rather than using verbal language or to be paired with the verbal language to support comprehension

    Emotion Key Ring

These are icons that can be worn on a lanyard. Students can identify their emotion and then turn over the card to determine what they can do to self-regulate given that emotional state.

    PECs Story Boards

It is hard to keep up with creating PECS boards and activities to keep up with a student's growing vocabulary. Here are a few PECS story boards to help you keep going.

                        Brown Bear, Brown Bear
    Polar Bear, Polar Bear
    Spilt Milk
    The Very Hungry Caterpillar
    Dear Zoo

     Kindergarten Schedule Icons

Using a classroom schedule allows all students to know what is expected of them and the agenda for the day. Some teachers have backed these with velcro and adhered them to a velcro strip. Other teachers have put magnets on the back and had their schedule along the radiator and yet others have used a pocket chart.

    My Feelings Board

Some students struggle to identify their emotions. This feelings board can be printed two-sided with one side representing basic emotions and then next side expressing some more complex emotions.
