Community Budget Review Committee

  • Each year, the Board of Education appoints a Community Budget Review Committee (CBRC) to assist in the annual budget process.  Persons who are interested in membership may submit an application during the summer for consideration.  The application process is now closed for the 2020/21 school year, in preparation for the development of the 2021/22 Fiscal Year Budget.  Applications for the next appointment cycle will be available in June.

COVID-19 Notification: Meetings will take place virtually via WebEx and are open to the public.  Written public comment can be emailed prior to the meeting.  Please check the individual meeting agendas available through our CBRC Calendar for further instructions, public comment deadlines, and meeting addresses.

The CBRC reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the Board regarding the Superintendent's Proposed Budget and any other budgetary issues the CBRC or the Board identify.  The CBRC also monitors and advises the Board on the allocation and expenditure of Local Option Levy funds.

The committee is typically composed of eight to twelve volunteer members appointed by the Board to three-year terms.  The Board appoints student members to a one-year term as well.  The CBRC generally meets on a monthly basis during the course of the budget development season, October through June (meeting schedule TBD), and additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.  Please click the CBRC Overview link below for additional information and a list of current CBRC members.  For more information, please contact the office of the Chief Financial Officer at (503) 916-3115.
