Senate Bill 13: Tribal History/Shared History

  • As a result of Senate Bill 13 (passed by Oregon legislature in 2017), the Oregon Department of Education partnered with the 9 federally recognized Tribes in Oregon to develop the Essential Understandings of Native Americans in Oregon. This statewide curriculum will address Native American experience in Oregon, including tribal history, tribal sovereignty, culture, treaty rights, government, socioeconomic experiences, and current events.
