Portland Public Schools

We are excited to gather our Guiding Coalition for the first time, in December. The PPS Guiding Coalition is the steering committee for our Visioning initiative and represents a cross-section of our PPS stakeholder community.

Members include parents, students, educators and PPS staff, community leaders, business leaders and elected officials. Guiding Coalition members will contribute ideas, perspectives, expertise and experience that will inform the creation of the district’s long-term vision, through a series of three design sessions. These sessions will be led by future of education consulting firm Prospect Studio and will include explorations of the future of Portland and PPS, and the connected needs of Portland’s students, schools and educators.

The Guiding Coalition is only one of many ways to be involved in our Visioning work. Stay tuned in the coming days for our announcement about the first Community Meetings, which will take place in early 2019 and where we hope to have hundreds of community members join us to share their own dreams about the future of education in Portland.
