Opt Out Incentive

  • Full-time Non-Represented and SEIU employees (over 30 hours per week) may choose to opt-opt of PPS health insurance coverage (medical/prescription, dental, and vision) and receive a $400 taxable monthly stipend if they have other employer-sponsored health insurance coverage, Medicare, or Tricare.

    • NOTE: Oregon Health Plan/Medicaid, Veteran's Administrations Benefit Programs, Student Health Insurance, and individual plans through the Healthcare Exchange do NOT qualify for the incentive.

    To opt-out of PPS health insurance coverage as a new employee, you MUST:

    1. In your benefits enrollment event in PeopleSoft Employee Self-Service (ESS), select the "Opt Out" option for the PPS health insurance package;

           AND

    2. Submit the required information on the Opt Out Google Form (orange button below).


    Non-Rep and SEIU employees who opt-out of PPS health insurance coverage are still eligible for and will be automatically enrolled in the following mandatory plans:

    • District-paid Group Term Life insurance; and
    • District-paid Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance.

    IMPORTANT: Non-Rep and SEIU employees MUST re-elect to opt out of PPS health insurance coverage each year during OEBB Mandatory Annual Open Enrollment to continue to receive the opt out incentive for the next plan year.  OEBB Mandatory Annual Open Enrollment runs mid-August to early-September with benefits beginning on October 1st.
