Welcome to the Portland Public School’s Substitute Secretary webpage. The purpose of this webpage is to provide information that will support and assist substitute secretaries in PPS.
Members of the substitute secretary staff are a vital part of our school system. Substitute secretaries’ administrative support is key to the continued success of all our students and staff.
Under general supervision, the Substitute Secretary is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the office. This support includes meeting the needs of all who call or visit the school office, providing a high level of customer service, performing data entry, preparing correspondence, and preparing administrative reports as directed. It takes a special individual to be able to manage the school office in the absence of the building secretary.
We will begin accepting applications for the 2020-2021 School Year this summer. We are currently reviewing applications and scheduling interviews. Interviews are by invitation only.
