Welcome to the Portland Public School’s Substitute Secretary website. The purpose of this website is to provide information that will support and assist substitute secretaries in PPS.
Members of the substitute secretary staff are a vital part of our school system. Substitute secretaries’ administrative support is key to the continued success of all our students and staff.
Under general supervision, the Substitute Secretary is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the office. This support includes meeting the needs of all who call or visit the school office, providing a high level of customer service, performing data entry, preparing correspondence, and preparing administrative reports as directed. It takes a special individual to be able to manage the school office in the absence of the building secretary.
Applications for the 2018-2019 School Year will be accepted starting in July 2018. Interviews will be by invitation only.
