Improved accessibility to schools and classrooms for students, teachers, and visitors with disabilities is a priority in the 8-year school building improvement bond that Portland voters approved in 2012. As many as 33 schools have been targeted for improvements to address ADA improvements. To see a list of the schools that have received improvements through the bond so far click here.

Most access upgrades will occur during summer improvement projects, to minimize disruption to school.

3 high schools and 1 PK-8 will receive full access upgrades as part of modernization/ replacement

Project Timeline

Accessibility upgrades will be completed over the next 8 years. The schedule for upgrades at these schools will be prioritized based on facility needs, capacity and other factors.
