Spring 2025 Bond 2020 Tech Update

    Completed Work

The classroom teaching station computer installation in Phase 1 of the Bond 2020 Tech Classroom modernization project was completed in October 2024 for Bond 2020 Schools. It included a new Chrome desktop computer and monitor for over 2,000 classrooms!

All Gyms in Bond 2020 Tech schools have received a table-top style laser projector on a tech cart to replace the existing projectors and provided a computer and monitor that rolled into the gym and are used for daily health and gym classes.

Jefferson, Wells and Cleveland Bond 2020 Tech installation work has been completed and included new desktop computers and monitors, wall mounted phones and more stable Wi-Fi school wide. Since these buildings are earmarked for new buildings, in the future these sites will receive the new classroom tech improvements as part of those future new building projects and are not included in scope for Bond 2020 Tech.

Device refresh was completed for all School Administrators, Support Staff, Students and Teacher mobile computers in 2021.

    Work In Progress

The Bond 2020 Tech Phase 2 patch and paint will be completed at night this spring and summer for the Bond 2020 Educational Technology Improvement Project’s School Group 1-4.5 schools. Work at Jackson and Chapman has had cabling completed and the classroom tech installations will continue once a new contracting company has been selected in the procurement process. School Group 5 is in the design phase and implementation will begin in the fall 2025.

Bond 2020 Tech School Phase 2 scope of the Classroom Technology Improvements projects will include in each classroom the following items: a wall mounted phone for the teachers in the standardized location by the classroom door, an Airtame unit so anyone, with approval from the teacher, within the classroom can stream to the projector, a new Lightspeed audio amplification system with a microphone for the classroom teacher and student engagement mic, and a new laser projector.

The new Artome AV Cart has been approved for Elementary Schools and Middle Schools moving forward as the new standard for School Group 5-17. The new Artome AV Cart will house the laser projectors, Lightspeed audio amplification system, the Airtame unit, will have a built in robust speaker, and will be able to be plugged into the teaching wall power outlet and will project onto the teaching wall whiteboard. This will allow the project schedule to move faster for each school since the teaching wall won’t need the additional cabling.

Each school will have available at the Front Office an Assistive Listening System (ALS) bundle that can be available upon request for guests or volunteers. These new ALS bundles can be able to be used throughout the school and will be checked back in at the Front Office once the guests are exiting the school building.
